4 Rolex Junior All-Americans To Participate In The Under Armour/Vicky Hurst Championship

Under Armour/Vicky Hurst Championship will have 4 Rolex Junior All-Americans participating in the event. Daniela Lendl of Vero Beach along with Will Davenport of Palm City have already got the invitation to test their skills face to face against top junior players in the event that is scheduled next week. The pair will be included in the field of 78 players for Under Armour/Vicky Hurst Championship that is scheduled to take place at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie. This event is an American Junior Golf Association event and will be played on Ryder Course. The program will commence on the 30th of April and will finish on the 1st of May. Also there are 9 players who have already signed the letters of intents with the colleges of their choice. Will Davenport who is a senior at the Martin County High School is planning to attend Yale in fall. Daniela Lendl who is the daughter of the great tennis player Ivan Lendl has already signed with University of Alabama.

Vicky Hurst, who is a product of the Holy Trinity High School, located in Melbourne is in the 3rd year on LPGA tour. Before she turned pro she had already captured seven titles. She was also named the player of the year in the year 2008 at Duramed LPGA Futures Tour. The 17 year old player announced afterwards that she will be skipping her college to join the Futures Tour in the year 2008. She had received sponsor exemptions for 3 LPGA Tour events in the year 2008. The year 2008 proved to be very lucky for the player as she was able to compete full time on the tour and won it five times. She also set a tour record as she earned $93,107 in single season. After being named Player of the Year and the rookie of the year she was automatically qualified for the LPGA tour for 2009 season. As a member of the LPGA her first tournament was the SBS Open at Turtle Bay which was a season opening event. At that event she finished at the 15th position in a tie.

She was also the leader in the field for driving distance. Vicky Hurst then finished the rookie year as she lead the LPGA tour with an average driving distance of about 272.5 yards.

Some of the other members of the tournament that are older have been practicing at the Sebastian Golf Course for a few weeks. Bob McDonald shot an 83 and Bob Beebe shot a 77 while they were playing in Wojo Monday League. Also John Elwood, who is 82 years of age, shot an 81 as they competed for the Men’s Golf Association. The roster for the event looks very promising and looks like the audiences will have a lot of action on the course to witness.
